More regulated nervous system, better connection

A free talk introducing a somatic, nervous-system-aware method of facilitation for people who work with individuals and groups.

We are the ones who sense the shift in a room, are aware of someone’s body tensing…

But does your nervous system know how to respond to others’ nervous systems? If you’re a coach, counsellor, therapist, circle or group facilitator, embodied listening and somatic practices transform attunement and sense of safety.

Live online workshop

Monday 16th February

19:00 PM (UK), 13:00 PM (CST)

Monday 9th March

19:00 PM (UK), 13:00 PM (CST)

Thank you so much for the talk. It was really interesting and lots to think about. It was lovely to listen to your stories. Thanks again, really thought provoking.

You might recognise this:

  • You were trained in techniques, but not in how to work with bodies and nervous systems in real time

  • You can feel a reaction in your own body, but are not sure if it’s your nervous system, sensing another’s or what to do about it

  • You know what works for resourcing yourself, but you’re not sure how somatic practices will land for others or to how explain why you’re sharing them

In this free talk, you’ll be introduced to The Somatic Circle Method that:

  • centres the nervous system as the foundation of safety and connection

  • recognises the importance of embodiment for deep listening

  • responds to the inherent power imbalance through simple adjustments

In the free talk, you’ll explore:

  • How nervous system states shape individual and group behaviour

  • What “embodied listening” actually looks like in practice

  • The facilitator’s role in co-regulation and naming somatic markers

  • Why the body needs to be integrated into the session

This is a felt introduction, not just theory.

This talk is for you if you:

  • Facilitate groups, circles, workshops, or trainings

  • Work as a therapist, coach, educator, organiser, or community leader

  • Are drawn to somatic, relational, or trauma-aware approaches

  • Want to work / facilitate with more confidence, depth, and ease

No prior somatic experience required.

This free talk also introduces a deeper training in The Somatic Circle Method, for those who want to:

  • develop their own embodied working / facilitation style

  • discover different somatic practices to calm and activate the nervous system and when to use them

  • practice nervous-system-aware leadership

  • elevate the mind-body connection and centre embodied listening.

There will be no pressure — just an invitation.

MEET THE FOUNDER AND WORKSHOP HOST

Hi! I’m Tessa

Having taught yoga for more than twenty years, I specialise in Yoga for Trauma and Anxiety. After having hundreds of clients with trauma, my expertise is in sharing how to work with the nervous system to calm or activate depending on what an individual requires in that moment and to teach practices so that they are empowered to increase their window of tolerance.

I’m the co-author of Circle Facilitation: A Guide to Facilitating Talking Circles and what I’ve learnt from the diverse circles that I’ve held and the facilitation training that I run, is that attending to the mind, body and spirit together is essential to create the best container and connection for the magic to happen.

You might be an expert on the relational field and/or group dynamics, but you can enhance your skills further by being able to respond to the somatic markers you see in the people in front of you with adaptable practices. I’m so excited to work with you on this.

My PhD was in Medical Sociology, understanding wellbeing and the process of normalisation in long term conditions.

Please feel free to explore my website once you’ve signed up for the free workshop so that you can see the range of my interests.
